Indian television actor Kamlesh Pandey, who played the role of a police inspector in Sony Entertainment Television's Crime Patrol, committed suicide on Monday night. Pandey reportedly shot himself in Sanjivini Nagar, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
The reason behind his suicide is not known, but reports suggest that he had an altercation with his relatives a few days ago. According to reports, his wife's sister Anjani Chaturvedi had fixed her daughter's marriage and engagement without consulting him and this irked the actor. Chaturvedi even got her daughter married and did not invite Pandey for the wedding, DNA reported.
Pandey was reportedly upset with the whole incident and created a lot of ruckus after he got drunk. On Monday, he visited Chaturvedi's house in Sanjivini Nagar and hurled abuses at her. He later took out a revolver, shot in the air and then shot himself in the chest, Firstpost Hindi reported. His family immediately called an ambulance and police, but by the time they arrived he was declared dead.
Pandey is survived by his wife and a 15-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son.
Earlier this week, singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya's music company's CEO Andy Singh hanged himself on Saturday night. Singh allegedly committed suicide after an argument with a female friend. "We are all in a state of shock. Andy's going is so sudden and uncalled-for. We believe he was in a relationship with a married woman. He was going through a lot of emotional stress. They had a heated argument on Saturday night. Andy stormed into his home shut his door and apparently hung himself on the ceiling fan. This is no way for anyone to go," a close associate of Reshammiya told Bollywood Hungama.
Other television actors who committed suicide this year includes, Mukesh Rawal and Pratyusha Banerjee. Bollywood actor Preity Zinta's cousin also committed suicide recently due to family issues.
